Laura Marshall-Andrewsback

MB, MRCPCH, DRCOG, MRCGP

I was an undergraduate at Southampton University. I initially trained as a Paediatrician at Kingston and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals in London. In 1999 I qualified as a Member of the Royal College of Child Health and Paediatrics.

In 2003 I retrained in General Practice but have maintained a special interest in Child Health. I have three children of my own who are now young teenagers.

I believe passionately that excellent primary care is the cornerstone of providing high quality health care for communities. I have a strong interest in Narrative Medicine and Integrated Medicine, and I am a great admirer the work of Dr Victoria Sweet in San Francisco.

I have taught medical students at Brighton and Sussex Medical Schools and have completed my training with the KSS deanery and started training new GPs at BHWC in 2014.

I believe learning is a lifelong habit. I learn more everyday from the people I see in clinics than I do anywhere else.

My husband runs an ethical African Travel Company. In our spare time we love to travel with our family and we frequently go back to Africa where my husband was raised.
