Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many of our 20,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work.

Cruse Bereavement Care

Cruse Bereavement Care is here to support you after the death of someone close. Face-to-face and group support is delivered by trained bereavement support volunteers across the UK. We also offer information, publications, and support for children.

EasyHealth

Easyhealth was made so that people know where to find 'accessible' health information. 'Accessible' information is information that uses easy words with pictures. There are over 500 leaflets on Easyhealth, made by many different organisations. You can print off nearly all the leaflets straight away.

Meals On Wheels

Royal Voluntary Service is the original Meals on Wheel provider, the traditional hot meals service. We deliver two million meals a year to people who have difficulty with shopping, carrying food home or cooking for themselves in their local area.

What is the Fed? The Fed is a user-led organisation that promotes independent living for all. It works towards equality by inspiring disabled people to identify barriers and define solutions.

We're there for people when they need us, which could be any time of day or night. People talk to us for as long as they like, as many times as they like. We don't rush, interrupt or push anyone out of the door. We let people lead the conversation at their own pace.

Rise

RISE is a domestic abuse charity working in Brighton & Hove and West Sussex. We can help with refuge accommodation, resettlement, crisis appointments, helpline, counselling, housing, legal and financial advice, solicitors appointments, support groups, play therapy, 1-to-1 support and training and preventative education.

Brighton Oasis Project (BOP) is a women only substance misuse service in the heart of Brighton. We are here to support women who have a drink or drug problem offering a non-judgemental approach and empowering women to make positive changes. Since 1993 BOP has been successfully helping women and their families address problems that are impacting on their lives.

Men Get Eating Disorders Too

Men Get Eating Disorders Too is an award winning national charity dedicated to representing and supporting the needs of men with eating disorders. Eating disorders are typically perceived to be conditions that are suffered by only females - this is far from the case. People of any gender are affected irrespective of age, social status, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation.

Health Walks

Welcome to the award-winning Healthwalks scheme! There are 18 regular walks across the city, and lengths range from under a mile (average walking time: twenty to thirty minutes) up to three miles (average walking time one and a half to two hours). They are all free, led by trained Volunteer Walk Leaders and are also accessible by public transport.

Allsorts Youth Project

Allsorts is a project based in Brighton to support and empower young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* or unsure (LGBTU) of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Black and Minority Ethnic Young People's Project

We are a youth led project for young people aged 11 to 25 and work in Brighton and Hove and the surrounding areas. We provide safe spaces and opportunities for young people to access support, to learn new skills through informal educational, fun, social, sports and arts activities led by and for young people.

Clock Tower Sanctuary

The Sanctuary provides information, advice and support to young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are homeless or insecurely housed, offering a friendly safe space, food and drink, access to computers and the internet, signposting to housing, health, education, employment and social services.

Doc Ready

We know that it can be difficult to talk to people when you're having difficulties with your mental health. Doc Ready helps you get ready for the first time you visit a doctor to discuss your mental health.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is a programme of voluntary activities available to everyone between the ages of 14 and 25. It's delivered all over the country by schools, youth clubs, DofE Open Centres, and other projects, and you can use it to develop existing interests or try something new.

DV8 Training

DV8 provides training courses for young people who are looking to break into the creative industries. We run courses in music, media, fashion and much more.

Young Families

Link Up

The Link-Up Project is run by a group of parents in Brighton and Hove who have children with a range of Special Educational Needs.Our aims are to provide support and a social network for SEN children and their parents. The group is open to children in mainstream schools who have statements or who are on School Action Plus.

Parental Advice Sheet

Having an ill child can be a very scary experience for parents. If you understand more about the illness it can help you to feel more in control. This booklet is for parents (and older children) and deals with common infections in children who are normally healthy.
